Hi all,

Is there a viewable logging facility in the Meridian system which allows me to see the status and history of TN's?

Greetings,

MarcelST

NO, Not really. There is a history file but it will only list errors, changes and such but not the status of TN's.

Ok i see, can you tell me how i can view that file then, i'm trying to resolve some issues with TN's that don't seem to work anymore and an issue with a TN that sometimes seems to shutdown and then come back alive again.

This will print all the info in the history file, basiclly is the same info that should be printing out on your TTY.

The TN's that you say don't work anymore, are they still there?

they are still selectable in the system, but they don't work. The wiring has been checked and double checked but is fine. One of the malfunctioning ports was reconfigured by the system itself (port was configured for an 2216 and the next day it said it was configured for another type of phone).

It sound to me like someone is accessing your Switch remotely and making changes. Have you fired your tech recently.

What do you mean by this

no, i am the tech for the meridian system.

the ony ones that have access to the system are the suppliers and they didn't understand anything of the problem anymore.

mat-stations recognizes them as free, but when i assign a DN to the port and hook up a phone they don't work.

When was the last time you sync'ed MAT and the PBX, it sounds like they don't match.

Have you logged into the PBX and verified that the ports are there?. I have seen where the PBX and MAT don't have the same info and remember the PBX rules not the MAT PC.

Yes, i can assign the ports to a DN using the terminal and it reports no errors.

I think you need to download the PBX to the MAT PC to make them match.

IF YOU PRINT OUT THE TN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PRINTOUT THERE IS A DATE THAT IS WHEN THE LAST SOFTWARE WAS DONE OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

acewar : then perhaps i'm going about downloading the PBX to MAT the wrong way.

I start up MAT station and do a synchronize all.

The suppliers told us that that is all that needs to be done from time to time.

There are two ways to sync, one is to download the MAT to the PBX and the other is to Upload the PBX to the PC. remember that the PBX is the one that controls the phones, if it's not programed in the PBX then it won't work. I don't like using MAT for making changes. I perfer just using the interface to make the changes directly to the PBX and once a week I would sync up the PBX to MAT.
