I know there is a way in active directory to make software startup when users logon, but is there anyway that forces them to logoff when they close that software? Also, does anyone know the executable file that runs the search function within windows, and more importantly the one within Internet Explorer, if their not the same.

Actually, I'm just going to explain the issue I'm having and maybe then someone can suggest a solution. We have a mapped drive that students must have access to in order for software to work. Now we have the mapped drives hidden, and the computers locked down to the point they can't navigate to the folder. The problem is, they open up explorer windows through My Computer and such, and then click favorites and open a IE browser, even though we have IE restricted it still works this way. From there they go to view and bring up the search fucntion, they can then perform a search for the server and get into the folders they shouldn't be. Is there anyway to stop this besides restricting access to the folder in question, b/c doing that won't allow them to run the software, I would appreciate any help.
