We have Survivable Media Gateways with signaling servers that are members of the primary signaling server. In the past we have had trouble with the IP set firmware loaded on the remote sites when the survivable signaling servers became active. So we would like to check to see what IP set firmware is loaded on the remote signaling servers. When we try to log in, because these are member servers, we can only go to the Base manager. Is there a way to login to these member servers and see what IP firmware is loaded there?

Probably the easiest way to see the current firmware is to PUTTY into the Signal Server and login with your credentials. Once logged in you can enter the command firmwareVersionShow. It is case sensitive put that should give you the information you are looking for.

You can also do this in Element Manager

IP Phone Firmware
The Software > IP Phone Firmware link in the System branch of the Element Manager
navigator allows users to upgrade IP Phone firmware. For more information, see Avaya
Signaling Server IP Line Applications Fundamentals, NN43001-125.

firmwareVersionShow is not an available Unix command. Of course we can get to the element manager at the main site and show the IP set firmware using the path that KFCLHRC shows but this is only available in Element Manager not in Base Manager.

Go to chapter 41 of this book NN43001-711_05.01_Software Input Output Reference ù Maintenance.pdf

It shows the Signal Server command line prompts and responses in 7.5. You have to have the OAM or PDT password to use the commands. I would say Element Manager is the preferred method since very few people should be in this area of programming.

You should have Element Manager loaded on the remote sites as well. Should be acessed the same as the Main office. All of our SMG and 1000B sites have Element Manager. Should be a link in the UCM.
