Hi! I just thought of something here. Just a few minutes ago when I just got to work, I logged on computer as usual. But the strange thing is that the WLAN connection doesn't connect until AFTER I've logged in! How can I make sure that the connection is ok BEFORE I type the password and press "login"?

Logging in to a domain with a laptop (WLAN)

Hi,
Windows will cache your Domain credentials so you can login while away from the Domain. There is a registry key that sets how many times this can be done.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\cachedlogoncount
The range can be 0-50

Ok, so this can probably be enforced by Group Policy?
And I tried it using a TP-cable too and it worked like it's supposed to. So it should mean that it's the WLAN connection that's not active outside the windows explorer shell?
Sounds strange.. But I'll give that registry setting a try. Atleast we can enforce it that way.

But what If I set the registry settings to never save the credentials and try to logon when I'm not connected to the networks and the domain? Will I still be able to logon?
Seems like this registry setting is not the correct way to do this. It's got to be something with the WLAN connection since it works great with a local TP-cable.
Now, it DOES work right now with the WLAN connection, but that's probably because the computer remembered that the script was run when I logged on with a local TP-cable.

In group policy under computer policy > Administrative Templates > Network (I think)
there is a rule for "Wait untill network connection is pressent"
or something like that......should have no more problems.
