Hello to all. I have a need to track or log all ftp activity on an AIX 4.3.3 system. I have looked thru 'smit' for this functionallity, but now guess that it is either command line or .conf file enabled. Any information is greatly appreciated.

You can achieve this by editing the /etc/syslog.conf file. Add the following line:

daemon.debug /var/adm/messages

...assuming the messages file is where you want to log them.

I used exactly this to do the same thing - monitor FTP transactions.

Hope it helps.

Thanks !! I managed to get this working well enough to capture what I need. Also added a line for "daemon.info" and "-l" flag for the ftp entry in the "/etc/inetd.conf" file.

Thanks again....
