Hi!

After upgrading our IP Office 500 to 5.0(22) (can't remember the previous version, I'm afraid), the log on the phones and in phone-manager has stopped showing the external prefix.

Earlier when an external call came in, the log would show 012345678 (0 is the prefix), which would allow us to dial directly from the log, instead of entering the number manually.

Now the log shows 12345678, which means we can no longer dial from the log.

Has anyone seen this before? I have no idea where to search :)

On a sidenote - internal numbers works just fine.

Best regards,
Thomas

what kind of sets ?
this can be changed with IP phones in the 46xxsettings.txt file...

Dave

Mostly Avaya 5610SW and Avaya 1608/1608-I.

We do have quite a few analogue phones as well though, unfortunately.

Also, I forgot to mention, that we recently switched from one carrier to another. Perhaps that might have something to do with it?

Check the Prefix field in the Line settings of Manager. If the field is blank put your 0 there.

Also look for the 46xxsettings.txt file and look for:

## SET PHNOL 9

Change it by removing the ## and the space in front of SET PHNOL 9

Then change the 9 if you use a different prefix or use ""

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Sorry, I completely forgot to thank you for this one.

ohnooos answer was spot on! Thank you very much. :)

This value is not erased with an upgrade.
So kick some ass at the business partners office!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Heh, I wouldn't know about that.

I'm not much of an asskicker, I'm afraid, but perhaps I can enlist some of you ;-)

:)

I am very curious which version you came from.
Because with an upgrade normally the prefix is not being erased.
Or was it version 1,2 or 3 perhaps?

I think it was 4.2(23) or 4.2(26) or something along those lines.

Although, I'm not 100% sure, that the prefix was entered then - perhaps it might have something to do with the carrier-change that we did?

Not on an IP500....

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Oeps, indeed :)
Then i really don't understand it.
