Hi everyone, i just get in contact with this tool and there is one thing that i am not able to do. Every time i execute a back-up operation the app generates one log in the machine where i have my client installed. How can i manage to make that the app will only create one log, and this will be increased every time that i do another back-up operation?

Gave me the name of the Log file so i will tell you how to disable the log.

This goes to databasebaba.
The name of the log file it´s BI1M4-00, which it´s one of the log´s that the app creates in my server client´s directory (actually the aplication its setup in another server, which it´s an stand alone, and i have my client installed in the DCmaster). So everytime i execute one job it create´s another log, and i´d like to have all my job´s written in one log, so i might have a bigger log instead 20, or whatever.
Just explaining this again ´cause i wasn´t sure that you did understand me, sorry about.

Lemme me know the Location of the Log file and what agents & options you have installed related with arcserve.

DatabaseBaba

The location of the log file is in the directory c:\programfiles\ComputerAssociates\NTagent\Log\*.log
This is in the machine where the client has been installed. Which is the DC master, here i only have installed the client agent for wNT and 2k (ARCserver 2000 advanced edition). In the stand alone server, i installed the ARCserver 2000 advanced edition, the tape library, and the disaster recovery options. Hope that helps.

Open registry using REGEDT32

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
SOFTWARE
COMPUTER ASSOCIATES
ARCSERVE
CLIENT AGENT
PARAMETERS

on the right hand window you will have a value called DEBUG.
Double click on the debug and the change the value to 0.

Then manually delete the log file and restart the client agent service.
