Log in to catalyst 1200

I'm pretty new to switches and routers but I am having trouble logging in to my cisco catalyst 1200 router. My first problem may be that I assembled the db9 to rj-45 jack incorrectly but given that I did that right, what will the settings in hyper terminal be to connect?

Terminal settings for most Cisco equipment is 9600 , 8 None

Cisco generally use either normal ethernet patch cables (High end switches) or "rolled over serial"(Small Switches & Routers)
