lockout group policy

does anyone know of a group policy that will lock the computer after a certain amount of time? something similar to using a screensaver password without the screensaver.

i looked through the group policy snap-in but couldn't find anything. i don't want it to logoff after time, just lock up.

Not that I'm aware of. Why not just use a screen saver? This satisfies audit requirements and is easy to implement.

i was just hoping to be able to create one policy and implement it on all of the accounts. rather than going to each computer and forcing it on people. oh well. thanks.

Hey, I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time).

Why not just create a logon script to take care of this for you? You shouldn't have to go around to every computer.

The ky combination of Windows key + L will lock the computer. You could try experimenting with a sendkeys command.

I gave it a quick shot but could not get it to work. The Windows Key is represented as ("^{Esc}&quot, when I tried adding the L ("^{Esc}L&quotit tried to do a log off. It is apparently releasing the key on me.

I believe the above should do it but as I said above it is somehow releasing the key on my end.
