Locked User Profiles

There are six user profiles on PC XP(SP2).

Intermitantanly - I cannot switch between user.

If click on from USER1 TO USER2..it will just bouce back to the logon on screen...very annoying problems...

This even happens to new users profiles which have just been created.....

could anyone help me on this issue.

You may be able to determine if there is a problem with your user profile by checking the event log. If the error is caused by a problem with your user profile, an event that is similar to the following is logged event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

Problem solved - I disabled fast user switching.
