Locked Up Database --- Need Help ASAP

I am running Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC3 on HP-UX. While running an sql, my engine locked up. When I do an onstat - command, it says my engine is online but when I go into onmonitor it says WARNING: Network Down. None of the onmode commands appear to be working. The oncheck -cDI <database> returns the error:
shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'cty149'
Error writing to network
Abnormal end !!!
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I know this reply is WAY LATE (I just saw your problem today).
I would check any database logs you have for any possible DB errors
(e.g., $INFORMIXDIR/$INFORMIXSERVER.log and $INFORMIXDIR/$INFORMIXSERVER.console).

hi,

Try to first see online.log and online.stat in
$INFORMIX directory. It might give you some clue.
Check esp. for checkpoints whether it is completed
properly. At last you can switch off the server and
restart.
