disconnect the wiring for this TN and see if the line will then go idle. if it does then there is a problem with wiring if not there's a problen with your card

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Hi After disconnecting the wiring the tn still shows lcko

what can i do to the card?

Pull and reseat it?

Thanks

Trevor

When you disconnect the wire at the crossconnect, put a buttset on it to see if you get dialtone or not. if you get dialtone, then the problem is your system.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Are these Copper or T1?

Hi acewarlock

We do get dialtone on the crossconnect

what can i do to get the card out of locked state?

Thanks

Trevor

Did you try to disable the TN and then enable it?

When you use your Buttset and go off hook do you get dialtone right away or do you need to touch a ground wire to 1 terminal.

Hi Acewarlock

I get dialtone right away

Trevor

You are programmed on 29-0 as ground start, the co needs to change that, they are set for loop start. That should clear your problem

Hi

Thanks guys is there a way to confirm it is in loop start?

I called the Telco and they are going to send repair out between 12 an 9pm today.

Thanks,

Trevor

If you go off-hook with a buttset and get a dial tone they are Loop start, If you have to touch your test lead with agrd wire they are grd start. You will probably have to rebuild them as loop not grd.

Hi

They were ground start before we had the problem with the line i have called to get them set back to ground start and i am hoping this is the end of my issue. Also i read here in the forums that on an option 11 it should be ground and not loop start.

Thanks

Trevor

I would make the telco change theirs to grd start. Because if you change to loop start you could have disconnect problems later. Just my 2 cents...

Trevatwork you are correct about opt11 an grd start trunks . It is very common in older PBX's. Stay on top of TELCO as they seem to Hew Haw around. Everyone has given you some good advice on this thread.

Thanks Guys

I always get great advice and solutions from this forum

Thanks everyone for your help

i will update as soon as it is fixed

NO NO NO.... They are paying for ground start which is more stable than loop start (and usually more expensive). If the phone company screwed up, make them fix it. DON'T let them get away with making you change your end. Besides they will still probably charge you for the ground start even though they are providing loop start.
