I know this one will ring alarm bells and maybe not get an answer. I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad and uninstalled Veriface, the face identifyer log in program. I did this as an idiot would do it...quickly, thoughtlessly after having used the annoying program for a while - in fact I didn't use my brain at all. Now of course I can't log back in because I don't know the password, if indeed there really is one!!

1. Which forum should I go to
2. I know there's the possibility that I'm just a hacker, but I have been around Tek Tips for quite a long time now posting a variety of nube posts, so I am for real!

Real help greatly appreciated,

Thank you.

I suggest the forum for the operating system currently installed as a first step.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

look up "Hirens Boot CD"

its got lots of open / free tools for these situations.

Hit the Thinkvantage or whatever button Lenovo offers and follow the yellow brick road. There's a good chance you can go to a restore set point or backup. Lenovo is pretty good about that.

You may need to call Lenovo.

Thank you people.

You wouldn't believe it but when Veriface is uninstalled, all encrypted files are then unreadable....including the password! Anyway, my 19yo son was able to recommend a downloadable program. It worked. Phew. And the idea pad didn't seem to have a thinkvantage button as does my laptop.

Thanks for the assistance.
