I am using access 2000 in an office network environment. When one of our users closes out a database, his computer is not communicating the information to close the "Access.LockFile (.Idb)" that is opened whenever a database is opened. This is creating an error message and causing us to have to repair the database several times per day.
We don't have this problem when any of the other users is using the databases on their computers. Is there a setting on this computer that can be changed to prevent this from happening?

make sure the users have read write delete abilities in the directory the db is located...

checked, all users have read write delete abilities.

still have problem.

I've seen this same problem. It usually occurs here when the user does not exit the DB appropriately - turns computer off at end of shift instead of closing all open apps.

i've also heard of this problem when there is a bad network cable causing the person to disconect from the database with out giving the exit command, if every thing else looks ok, try replacing the network cable on that computer to the wall...

just another idea...
