Hi All,

I have been asked by one of our DB's to find out what disk a certain file is sitting on.

Volume Group VG01 has 10 hdisk's assigned to it, this volume group only has 1 mounted filesystem on it. The volume group is in total 350GB in size and has 6GB free.

I have had a look at the fileplace command but don't understand it fully, is there a way of finding out which of those 10 hdisk a certain file is on? OS is 5.3 TL04-03
Thanks

The fileplace command will help you - see man page

The fileplace command I found best was

fileplace -pv filename

it tells you what disk the file is on.

Thanks
