Localhost

I am testing some php applications on localhost.... while trying to access some pages Windows wants to dial out and get me online when the page is hosted locally.... this is a real pain....

Anybody know the cause/solution to this

Sounds like connection properties in Internet Explorer.

Go to Tools> Internet Options > Connections, and check that you properties are setup correctly. You could select "Never dial a connection", whilst doing development work.
