Hi,

I want to manage local users and groups from over the network. In Windows NT4.0 under usermanager I could select another domain and type \\machinename. Can I do something like that in Windows2000??

I'm sorry, perhaps I have to state that I am still using an NT4 domain...

Yes, but better based from an 2000 based machine, and use Admin Tools > Comp Management and connect to another PC.

Although it works fine in USRMGR, I dont know the exact differences in user databses etc

HTH?

run your management console and add in snap ins from different domains.

Start >> Run >> mmc >> console >> add snap ons

You will be prompted which computer \ domain you want to attach to
