I have windows 7.
I opened cmd and iam in C:\users\username
How to get into local settings???

C:\users\username> cd l and press taB??????? it doesnt work
What Iam missing here? I dont remember can anyone help?

Thanks.

They dont work:(

I need to get in c:\users\<username>\ local settings\apps\2.0

How do i get though first in local settings. Thats the problem.
I only remember cd l something but dont remember and I ve tried the above also before but still doesnt work.

In Windows 7 the 'Local Settings' folder no longer exists, it has been moved to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local. What you see as 'Local Settings' is actually a junction (a link) to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local.

Type CD %LOCALAPPDATA% to get the the equivalent of the 'Local Settings' folder, or CD %APPDATA% to get to the equivalent of the 'Application Data' folder.

Thank you for the information,It works!
But how can I get the following:

c:\users\<username>\ local settings\apps\2.0 ???
I need access on the above in order to install a printer driver.

Append the path after "local settings" to CD %LOCALAPPDATA% eg:

CD %LOCALAPPDATA%\apps\2.0

Anything that tries to access 'C:\Users\<username>\Local Settings\apps\2.0' will be redirected to 'C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\apps\2.0'.

Type:
CD %LOCALAPPDATA%\apps\2.0

If that doesn't work, type:
CD %APPDATA%\apps\2.0

Thank both of you! It works!

Just a last question, before accessing apps/2.0 how can i get to regsvr32?

It should be in your path so you can just type regsvr32 on the command line.

If you want to find the exe, it should be in %WINDIR%\System32.

C:\users\<username>\ cd l and press tab twice=Local Settings
C:\users\<username>\Local Settings\

I was right:) It does work in my workplace but doesnt work in my pc!

Thank you for the above though!
