Greetings,

Hosted CUCM 6.x solution A: Calling Search Spaces w/associated PTs are used to provide phones and/or DNs the ability to call (or not call) predefined destinations. PSAP calls were also configured using this method.

Hosted CUCM 8.x solution B: Local Route Group is defined using the device pool field. So phones sitting in the appropriate device pool will reach the corresponding PSAP and local calling routes out using this method. There is 1 CSS assigned for each calling destination (e.g. Local, LD, International, Internal etc...) and not individual CSS based on the sites.

The issue is that a site was transferred from a CUCM 6.x cluster to a CUCM 8.x cluster and now 7-digit local dialing has been disabled. The Carrier CO supports 7-digit local dialing for this area code and route patterns have been added 9.[2-9]XX-XXXX w/ predot discard to the RG for the site, but calls do not complete.

Any suggestions?

Commensurate with the upgrade of the CUCM, were any changes made to your gateway routers?

Can you engage the local telco to monitor one of your spans (assume PRI) to see what digits they are seeing from you?

Are you familiar with the diagnostic commands available on the gateway router? I admit to being poorly versed on these myself, (I'd have to look at the class notes I scribbled into my CVOICE course book) but I'm pretty sure there is at least one command that will show the digits that are being sent to the trunk.

thank you for the response, simple clarififcation on my part: the site was re-hosted (moved over to) a CUCM 8.x and it is possible that the gateway config was modified (do not know for sure to what extent)... if you could provide the CLI commands to assist with gateway monitoring - this would be helpful as I'm not very experienced with the VR CLI... only use the CUCM GUI to admin...

mitel, did you by any chance remember the diagnosis type commands that can be used to monitor gateways, eg. digits sent out? will this also work to see digits being rec'd from Telco?

CCMJGB, I would start with trouble shooting using DNA.

Search for a phone that uses the CSS of the site that's making the call.
Click the appropriate line
Key in the dialed digits of the local number
Does the match results = RouteThisPatten or BlockThisPattern?

This will confirm the programming... If this routes then you'll want to run your router diagnostic commands to see what's being sent from the router to the telco. POTS, PRI or SIP?

Also, try putting the debug on the serial interface on which the call is sent through.

1. Create a translation pattern and map the Route List which has this specific route.

2. Enable DNA.

3. enable q.931 and term mon to see what are the d-channel msg's.
 
As hari2578 said, I would first use DNA and see what pattern the calls are actually hitting and follow it out in CM to make sure its nothing there. Then I would hit the gateway and look at it there. I assume you are using 9.[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX patterns for the 10 digit dialing?
