Following installing Windows XP from scratch I installed my cable modem successfully. The next step was to install a network connection to my Small Business Server 2000. The act of installing the network connection to SBS stopped the cable connection working. Disabling the SBS connection allows the SBS connection to work again. The result is I can either have my cable modem modem working or my SBS connection but not both at the one time. Any ideas?

So, are you running two NICs out of this pc, or is the cable modem USB and the NIC is for the SBS?
Do you have a router? These make sharing cable modems and connecting several pc's together very simple, and a 4 port 'switch' router costs under $100.

'Disabling the SBS connection allows the SBS connection to work again. ' I'm a little confused by what you are trying to say here. Do you mean:
Disabling the SBS connection allows the cable modem connection to work again.

The cable modem is a USB connection and I am using a NIC for the SBS. Sorry about my description, disabling the SBS allows the cable modem to work again.

I am currently having a similar issue. Did you find a solution to this?
