and yes old i get the var pressed1 = false know thank you..i really think we should have the static come up only after mc window to previous page has been closed..and then run untill next channel is hit..i think i will be a nice pre-loader to load the movies inside the screen..

Keeps changing is mind! Or call it an "in...progress" design if you will! I was trying to do something here, but guess virt had something else in mind.
The fla were working on is over 700KB... So maybe, rather than downloading it you can have a look at my present output: (only +/- 100KB) That's site is pretty slow tonight... at least on my side.
My problem is: if you go from channel 1 to 2 and 3 and reverse that in order, it works. But going from 1 to 2 and 3 and then from 3 to 1, I can't get rid of movie 2 which is on top of 1. I need to turn off in this case, movie 2's visibility but from the middle of movie 3 rather than doing in on the channel's button press, which works in the 2 other cases.
Do you get this?

ok old i understand..and in one of those cases i would choose button three style the fade in is nice..but how would you do closing the movie and have the static play untill next button is clipped..what do you think of that way old..i know i'm a pain but just thinking..

It's the ./[color] that did it! Still can't figure out why it did so! Anyways, virt has already changed his mind about this... so!

Note that once the movie was loaded a first time, if you come back to it a second time, it won't have to load again, since it's already in the cache, thus you won't see static unless you addd a few seconds of it on the movie itself.

ok old how about this..the user is going to be able to change the original background(sunset) on the main timeline..if we do it the way you have it they can only change the background if they are on or above button one..if they click button two and go through the buttons they want be able to see there change untill they close 5..so maybe we should have it like this..each loaded movie should have a close button inside the movie that closes back to the background..enabling the user more oppurtunity to use the background buttons..once the next button is clicked the static pre-loader should start and have the movie fade in like you have it..i like that alot..but i think we should close each movie from within the movie..what do you think..

That's why I was saying the sunset (which is supposed to be something else... as you said!) should be available through another button as the channel buttons (button 0 or button "*" so the user can come back to it, if they so desire, or just go on to another channel if they don't.
I don't know about you... But I'm waisted. Won't be here for much longer tonight!

i'll be up working for a few more hours dave..the old mans getting tired over there..and i keep changing my mind on everything as well..would appreciate you catching up on the thread though..give some extra imput..old's got the updated fla..

If you refer to the above previous posts... I think my problem is still sometimes occasionnaly happening. Thought I had solved it, but seems I'm sometimes still stuck with movie 2 not being set to invisible within movie 3.
As for you virt, I think the easiest would surely be to have your sunset, interface, main menu or whatever you want to call it... as being accessible from another button.
It would come up, as the sunset now does, when getting on the site, but afterwards would have to be accessed through that other button. It can be any other button somewhere... Doesn't have to be a channel button.
Once that is settled, working the transitions (with the static) between channels should be a piece of cake.
A lot of things to do tomorrow. Will check in the morning... But don't think I'll come back on this before tomorrow night!
