Hi all

I can add printers setup on the linux samba server from win2000/xp clients by the using \\server\printshare,

Then i select the make and driver and printing works.

What i would like to know is how the printer drivers can be downloaded from the samba server without having to select the printer make and model.

I plan to replace my firm's NT print server with the samba server. The NT print server automatically loads the drivers.

Any suggestions welcome...

Hi,

Have you reviewed the Samba How-To doc at ? Chapter 6 goes over the steps necessary to permit downloading drivers to clients. All a user at the client workstation need to is right-click on the printer in the \\server folder and select Connect, this should trigger a download of any drivers not already installed on the client.

Cheers,
Chuck
