I'm looking to load very small jpegs into a DB2 table using Delphi 7. We don't have any tools for doing this or anything similar previously written, so I need to create this from scratch. Can anyone shed some light on where to start, what to do, or if there is a component out there somewhere that actually could do this for me already?

Well, the trick is going to be loading the jpeg into a blob field in DB2.

An alternative would be to store the JPEG somewhere on the network and load a link to it into a DB2 string field.

Now you have me intrigued and I may have to do a bit of playing around to see if I can't figure out exactly what it takes. ;-)
