hi folks,

i tried to export a container as exe-file and then load several swfs into it as i thought that once there is a player there should be a possibility to load the films into it but i experienced that that wasn't possible.

is there a way to do something like that for users without flashplayer?

thanks in advance (-: regards

could it be that the file-size influences that? the films to be loaded "weigh" about 50 megs (a waited about 20 seconds if the film loads) but when i start the container as swf it lasts about a second.

can't explain why.

anyway it makes me happy that i was not on the wrong way, thanks david. regards

First of all, what on earth have you got in a flash movie to have it weight 50megs? Isn't there someway to put that on a "diet"?

To know for sure if your mc is loading make a simple preloader. There are lots of examples out there. /*Ricardo Vercesi

well that was some kind of dia-show with about 100 photos per file and it was important to keep high quality and in addition to that there where 2 songs in every file.
so downsizing was not the way to go for me :)

...and there is a preloader in each of the files... regards

Couldn't you load the images with LoadMovie? At least they'll be loaded only when needed! /*Ricardo Vercesi

first i thought about this solution too but i made animated movieclips out of them to appear and dissappear in many different ways. although it was an animation via script and not via tweening i guessed it would be rather complicated to load them from an external source.
but i can't believe that this is the reason for the malfunction of the not working loadmovie-command as it worked with a .swf-container but didn't work with a .exe container. regards
