Hello.

I am having issue using the print buttom of livelink when i access the system through load balancer. However if i directly connect to one instance, the buttom is working and i am able to print.

any idea?

what is the issue,is the button not active, does it not print on the default printer, have you tried changing your default printer and such easier debugging techniques

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

The issue is that the print button does not work and i cannot print documents using that icon. However if you open the doucment and then go to file and print, it work. The issue is only using the print core button that livelink has. I am gettting the below errors:

"A connection with the server could not be established"
" Download of documents from livelink failed"

I could be wrong on this but to me it looks like Livelink is using a n ActiveX print control on the browser to do the local printing. It could be that when you use the LB URL the active X is not registerd in the browser.Usual culprits being restrictive permissions on the livelink support directory from where the browser needs to download the print activex control.BTW do you have the component Livelink explorert on this computer if that is there a lot of activex stuff gets retired in favor of that product. If I were you I would check this I would share the download area of the two servers so that both servers can see each other and not local. There is a setting that allows you to set up the download size etc in your admin.index pages. If that does not work You will better be served by opening a ticket with OT support who can trap browser calls and see what is happening

hello
thanks for your prompt response.

My download size of the admin pages is set to enough ( 20 MB and more), the document i am having issue to print using the print Buttom is very small ( 10kb, 150 kb etc ).

as mentioned before , if i open the document and go to file then i can print. however, if i select the document and then press the Print buttom, it does not work.

I have few instance running three different servers and all connecting to the Load balancer. Connecting on instance directcly works fine but load balancer is the issue.

Just to confirm your suggestion, should i share the support directory of the each instance in every server?

Not sure if I can trouble shoot this but I was thinking of a situation like this.

If you use Zip & Download on a LB URL(I know you are having problems with print, but all of them come form the same module)
here's the mecahanism.

It will hit one of the Livelink servers as set by the LB
That livelink server thread will start the process. If you now go to that server you can see that file burnt
Your browser is refreshing the status
If you are lucky so that the original request again hist the server processing that thread you will get your document. But if you happen not then it is just a refresh doing nothing.

That is precisely why on a LB Livelink the download area is shared.I thought maybe something on those lines may be happening.

Open a ticket with OT because You can ctually show them what is happening

i think that is exactly what is happing.

thanks you soo much. I will try to use a UNC path all the instance on every server can share... and also open a ticket for the record.

thanks
