Hello All,
I have this message on all the displays of the phone and I can not get any of the keys to respond. Can anyone help me through this problem??

Almost certainly, your memory retention battery has failed and you've lost your configuration. If you default system (exactly how depends on which system control you're using) the phones will likely come back up using the default configuration. If you're familiar enough to reconfigure from scratch or load a backup config, give it a shot. If that is beyond your ability - best to get the assistance of a trained tech. Remember to have battery replaced as a part of the process.

Thanks for that information. It has been awhile since I have Installed phone system. Through 99-05, I installed only Vodavi systems at the time and have kept most of the installation and program manuals. If think if I can get the phone into program mode I will be able to program the phone. Would you walk me through some steps to get to that point? I should be able to take it from there. I have a Starplus STS 3500 and the phones are a 3516-71 style that I am having to replaced for a client of mine. I purchased a used system that consist of the following:

V70 Modu
V70 Basic SLIB Slot 2
V70 DTIB Slot 3
V70 LCOB Slot 6
V70 Voicemail Slot 7

I will follow up with some questions for you if you can help, I know it is a older system but Vodavi has been the brand of my choice... Thanks again

REPLACE memory retention battery. Requires soldering.
Turn DIP switch 8 off and reboot. Wait a minute or two then turn DIP switch 8 back on.
From ext 100 dial **3226 to get into programming.
Fortunately, Vodavi programming didn't change much from the time I first programmed one (1989) thru the end of the product line.

Thanks very much for the information.

When replacing the battery, do you have to remove the board from the case and de-solder from the back side? Thanks.

@watchn - battery is soldered on to CPU/MPB. It depends on which cabinet you have as to how to get to the battery.

I was able to replace the battery without removing the board from the case on the 3500 series KSU's, little tricky on the (-) side due to how close it is to other circuitry. With a small enough tip on your soilding-iron, seemed to work for the job.

I was able to go to Batteries plus and get them to add the legs to the correct battery for like $10.00. Then I cut the old leads off the existing battery without having to desolder them from the baord and resolder the new leads to the old. Worked fine.
