I'm sure that I can use webdav, I can connect and get all data by nodes.
but how to use an xml select query, I dont know how to do its correctly.
you said its easy, can you give me an example of query who's working
I can scope to something like 1000folder (but I dont know how many files inside)
I want to try something to see the speed.

tank you

I usually use this for m my search related projects

Then I download the catukls search api documentation form the knowledge base under this link

This needs a userid/password which they give out free for paying customers

I made a search project available in the communities website here
which is a self registering OT website

Note that search can get you only to a certain extent,if you get a node id from search you will need to use either websvcs, lapi or oscript to manipulate anything

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

I look at your example, its interresting, seems fast and I can use xml result

I search a way that the searching engine search only on folder name (not file name)

I dont have the right to see catukls search api documentation (I dont have knowledge access and that can take time to get it (bureaucracy))

If you create a account in communiies web site you can get the api documentation

Livelink Search api is very powerful

tank, that will be very useful

I'm still searching how to do a search on Folder name rather than file name

its because I want to searche a folder who's containing an id

example Id:QW3RTY

the folder name can be "a dummy folder name for QW3RTY"

I know I have only 1 solder name containing QW3RTY,
but there's files, somewhere in the enterprise tree with QW3RTY in their name, and I dont want those files
and somes documents contain QW3RTY on their content, I dont want those files either.

How should I proceed on the searching api for getting my folder with QW3RTY in his name?

one of the options in the Search API is for Livelink Object Type or SubType, if you specify that and the value of Folder (0) then you should be able to refine your search query as you need to.

I try the objtype, but, whatever I use, always same result, seems dont care on search
(example of objtype are like exe?func=ll&objType=2&objAction=Create&sourceID=2250&parentID=2000&nexturl

its for object creation

I still searching..

tank you

I found, on the local livelink searching tools , an option for SystemAttributes
I can specified folder and I get only folder,
so I just need to know how to use it on get var.

I really want to see that, but I cant, I cant get the right to access to Knowledge Center and Customer Self Service.

can you give me a link to get the doc attached to the thread?

I have Search API Programming Guide, but I cant find how to use system attribute?

I found something
func=search&lookfor1=complexquery&where1=(OTSubType : 0) AND "(01234)"
I can get only folder

now I need to get that information in vba

can we search special char, because I try with braket but I think he trim them?
