It has been a while and last time I used stacked cisco configuration.
I have about 4 buildings quite far with fiber between. All cisco 2950 with fiber minibics. I have about 20 but looking to consolidate some servers and about 200 users. Questions:
would it be beneficial to use vlans? nothing on this network other then an engineering software, exchange and filtered internet.
I have a few laptops but rest are desktops. I remember a doc where cisco recomended forcing cards to 100full duplex. Anyone has done this and saw at least noticable improvement?
Anything else you cold recoment? it'll come back :)

Thanks in advance

Not sure of the topology.. Will you map it out?
IE.

Internet==ROUTER1==SWITCH1==SWITCH2
Like that and give port numbers..

3750 with 12G ports. G1,G2,G3,G4 connecting local building
G5,G6,G7 remote building all in 2950 on the other end.
G1 connects to a local 2950 via G1 as well. The e0/1 goes to gateway .1 router for engineering trafic (no internet) and e0/24 going to a remote network from a different group for internet trafic.

With the 150 hosts give or take i have to support, I have only one subnet to use. I don't have a problem with Vlans and vtp but now I am a bit stuck on intervlan routing.

Thanks again for help.

The hosts on the vlans will route to the internet because of the gateways you assign them, not from any config in the 2950. The only thing you need in the 2950 is the vlan config and access ports.
