list NCOS and TGAR

On our campus we have most of the phones set to a NCOS that requires an access code for LD. However, we have some that are set so that you can just dial LD without a code. I think those are NCOS 3. Is there any way I can list phones or TN's by NCOS? And how do I tell what NCOS does what?

The easy part is listing sets by NCOS. Go to LD 81 and do a LST for list, hit enter a few times, you may need to respond with a customer number, at the FEAT prompt enter NCOS. I believe the system will respond with NCOS an you can type the NCOS you want to list, 3 in this case. Then hit enter a few times and your sets will scroll by.

To see what an NCOS does you'll need to start with LD 87 and PRT an NCTL to see what your NCOS to FRL associations are. Then in LD 86 you can PRT all your RLBs to see what FRLs your RLIs have. Then back to either LD 87 for CDP or LD 90 for NET data to see what dialing strings are associated with what RLIs.

while your in 86 notice mfrl also, that give authcode tone. best way to determine that is to chnage a set to each of your used ncos's and test.. document that.. i've done bars for decades but usually test an ncos quicker the track it through the loads..

Best way is to capture you entire TN Print to a file. Then input that file into mv.xls spreadsheet available free at pepedog.com That will list every phone in your system with every bit of information you could ever need (including NCOS)

You can then sort on any information in that database, including DN, TN, NCOS, PICKUP GROUP, etc.

As for what they do go to LD 87 and do a print on NCTL that will give you a comparative between the NCOS and the FRL.

From there go to LD 86 and print your RLI's, that will tell you what FRL level a phone needs to get out each route. If you need a NARS/BARS refresher check out Gene Trouts site
