linux course help

hi everyone i'm trying to learn linux and wondering if anyone of you have any books, or methods or links that you recommend. I am currently looking into cbt nuggets. They have a combo linux package for $299 of 23 hrs worth of videos that include the below. Has anyone taken this before or recommend it or recommend something else. Thanks for your advice.

4 what its worth if you are a total newbie try it out play with it install it try to break it - use a free distro and the free Links like this to answer specific question or spend £10 - £25 on a good book - you'll learn a lot more hten you can if you want go on to the course.
