Hi all,
A company uses Linux server (redhat 7.3) and I have been asked to upgrade to another new server. I have installed a new server and copied the configuration files from the old linux server (sendmail, networking, user accounts).
When I hooked new server up to the ADSL modem and LAN, it's perfect, I can send and receive internal and external emails from the server. But the problem is the internet for the windows client inside the office. They cant seems to be able to browse the internet. It's actually pinging the linux by ip address ( not by name ) and when I say ping google.com, it gets the first line where is says
Pinging google.com [216.239.57.99] with 32 bytes of data:
But I am not getting anything after that.
The windows clients are set to "Automatically detect setting". When I ping new linux server by IP address it's okay but not by name.
I know I am missing some configuration from the old server to new server so that the client windows machines can browse internet.
Does any one know what that could possibly causing this problem.
