I am having an issue getting Linux to detect a DELL PowerVault 100T DDS4 tape drive. The OS sees the SCSI controller card but not the tape drive. I've ran kudzu, checked dmesg, hwconf and its just not there. Any suggestions? Please and thanks -denise

Had a similar experience with a Compaq server, needed to install an updated cciss package I found at Compaq. Suggest looking at Dell's support for something similar.

Whats Linux version did you install it ?
If you used Linux RH 6.2.You got problem to detect the new scsi card.Because I got experience with compaq server ML530.
The solution : I changed with old model scsi card.
Or I need to upgrade your linux kernel.

Actually issue is finally resolved. Another issue now, for some reason the aic7xxx mod is not loading on boot up. It had to manually be started with insmod and then I ran kudzu and it detected my hardware...

I actually found similiar issues when I did a search for aic7xxx drivers in the forum.
Thanks for your responses all. -denise
