Hi all,

I have a Linksys WAG54GS Router. It has been working ok but over the last few days it keep powering itself off for no apparent reason. Today it did this over 10 times.

I realise it could be eletrical but I'm interested to see if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to overcome it.

Thanks.

I have the same router. It was OK when new for a few months. Now, it turns off/on when it feels like it.
Also, every time someone turns on the hair dryer in the bathroom, it starts turning on/off.
This is my second Linksys, and my last.
I am replacing it with a different brand next week.
The support people are in India and I have the hardest time understanding them! SOmetimes a bad phone connection and language issues.

Hi Chris,

I have done further digging through some other forums and I have this to be a common problem. I also will be replacing mine.

Thanks.

gavm99,
Curious, which brnad will you be switching to? I'm trying to decide which one. Someone at work told me he did not like D-Link.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

I'm going for a Draytek, they are quality, reliable products full of advanced features and cheap!!

Thanks.

Well, my Linksys finally cr***ed out. Was expected.
I bought a Netgear. So far I like it and it was very easy to set up.

Hi,

Doesn't surprise me. I will steer clear of Linksys from now on, I am disappointed as I thought a company that has links to Cisco would be good, still lesson learnt.

Thanks.
