Hi all. I;m hoping you networking experts can help me with a problem I'm having. My wife and I operate about 25 websites for various clients. Lately we've been having a problem with our networking. We're using a Linksys router and the problem arises when we try and add a new site to our network. Even though we're able to see all the folders on both our computers in "My Network Places", I'm not able to access the newer files. Also, it seems that when we add new sites, older ones sometimes get booted out of the network folder.

Is this because we've exceeded an information limit for the router? Or is it another problem? We've checked and all our permissions seem to be set properly.

This is frustrating and time-consuming. I'd be very grateful for any advice given. Thanks.

Just to confirm something, the websites are on a separate device other then yours or your wife's PC, correct? Is this device on the same LAN as yours, correct? Can you see the new sites from the server that the sites are on? If you can't then the problem is definately on the server.

What do you mean by add new sites?

To clarify, the problem seems to be in our local network between my computer and my wife's. For some reason, even though all the permission settings have been set correctly, I am denied access to the network folders that exist on m y wife's computers. When I say "add new sites" I mean when we add new folders to the network (that represent the files for new sites) sometimes other folders are booted out- for no apparent reason.

Well it doesn't seem like it's a linksys problem, did this problem just start up or did it always exist? If it just started what was the closest change prior to it occuring? You may get better assistance in a forum that deals with the OS you're running. good luck
