Is the Linksys VPN router what I want to connect from home to work, where they have a Checkpoint Firewall 1 appliance?
I am thinking I would run the checkpoint client on my pc and the Linky would just forward the packets in the tunnel. My currect Linksys BEFSR41 does not let me connect. But I can connect when my pc goes straight to the cable modem.
Thanks for any info!

Tom

I have read the other posts regarding this and I know it may not be possible. Does anyone know for sure????

Tom,

Did you ever get an answer to this? Did you just give up and buy the VPN Linksys?

The regular Linksys will do this if checkpoint is set up a certain way. trying to get that done now. From reading the other posts, the VPN linky works reliably only when there is one at both ends of the pipe. Not going that way so We will change the checkpoint configs next month when we do some upgrading.

I'd be interested in what settings you're chaning? I have a BEFSR41 at home with Checkpoint client running to tunnel to work and it runs fine. What key scheme are you using in the client? Also, on the router, you need to make sure IPSec and PPTP Pass Through are enabled. Additionally, my ISP is fully firewalled and since NAT won't deal with a one to many connection, they had to give me a static IP for the VPN to get through on a one to one connection.

Hi Watson,

I have the router set correctly as far as I know. I have looked up more info than I cared to when setting it up.
We are using FWZ instead of IKE at the checkpoint. My understanding is that the linky will work if we use the Internet Key Exchange configs.
I dont have a static IP but I might as well since my router stays on all the time. even when I reboot it which seldom occurs I get the same IP assigned back.
