Two Linksys BEFVP41 routers a tunnel is established from remote office WIN xp pro machines at both locations. Small network of 4 computers All running XP pro. How do I get to see the network, at the host? Sharing is established the network at the home office works great. I just am stuck!

can you ping the remote computer IP? if not, post back with the routing table and ipconfig /all.

I cannot ping the remote computer i.p. I can only ping the router.
Remote: 192.168.2.0
Local : 192.168.1.0

These are the local i.p addresses of the routers. When I click on connect the routers connect. I just cant get past the router.

Dranon,

First off, the two IP's above (192.168.2.0 and 192.168.1.0) are network addresses, not IP addresses. Are those the IP's you used on the routers? If yes, you'll need to change the last octent to something between 1-254.

If you menat to say that those are the network addresses, then are all computers getting IP address from the router (i.e. DHCP) or are the computers using static IPs? Eitherway, what's the IP address/gateway of the systems on both sides of the tunnel?

Yes those are the network routers addresses the I.P. address are 129.44.26.189 and 129.44.26.190 The computers are getting their i.p adresses from the router DHCP

I am able to ping the other computer! when i send a ping from 192.168.1.104 to 192.168.2.100 it responds. How do I get files or "see" the other computer?

Dranon,

What happens when (at the 192.168.1.104) you run from the command prompt;

nbtstat -A 192.168.2.100

Do you get a NetBios name for that system?

If you do get a name what happens when you hit "Start" "Run" then type "\\computername" (use the name from the nbtstat command)?

If that doesn't work, hit "Start" "Run" then type "\\192.168.2.100" and let us know the results.

Good luck.

The nbstat-a command gives me a message that it is not a valid command. Start run and computer name gets me "not found" start run and \\192.168.2.100 gets me network path not found. When I ping it I get a response!

OK I got to see the computer now! Zonealarm was stopping me! Now what I need to do is add it to my network. Can I map a network drive to the other office? I need to run a scheduling program. The data is on the main office and I need to map the drive letter there for the data.

Also is there a way to "see" the computers My network places?
