Linksys BEFSR41 problem.

I have put a BEFSR41 on my wan in front of a w2k server box. I am able to connect to the internet as well as ping/connect to computers by IP address, however i cannot connect via name and also am unable to ad the machine to the Domain (it says its unavailable). most of the firewall settings are at defualt while i have made the server dmz and disabled 'block wan requests' option. does anyone have any information regarding this or know what is happening?
I have also edited the host file to pre load the dc and pdc.
any help would be appreciated.

Did you also disable SPI (stateful packet inspection) if applicable? - Most recent firmware has removed this function.

i have most recent firmware so it n/a. any other idea's?
