Links not working in e-mail 1

I have this problem where links sent in an e-mail message will not work when clicked on. I have tryed IE, Mozila & incredimail ,all with the same result . Win Xp pro Pentium 4 at 2.4 ,1 gig of ram. any one have a clue.Also have done a reinstall of XP ( for other reasons) and a restore. Kelly
 
I think maybe I didn't make my self clear,the problem is ONLY in e-mail ,not with browsers,sorry about that Kelly
 
Have you tried holding CTRL + mouse click?

To all who chipped in to help, many thanks!!! I have done all that was sugested that had any bearing my problem, and I still have it.Guess I'll just have to live with it ,as I don't fell like doing a complete format and reinstall everything. Thanks again for trying.Kelly
 
I believe your problem is down to associations, this is why I made my suggestions above.

However the other way of doing this is as follows:

Open My Computer
Click on Tools > then Folder Options
Click on the File Types tab
At the top you have a short list that start with (NONE), find the one that is listed as:

(None) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol

Highlight this and click on advanced. In this screen you should have an action named open. If not click on new and enter the information that follows. If you do have an entry named action then check the details are the same as below.

Action = open
Application Used to Perform action = "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome
DDE Message = "%1",,-1,0,,,,
Application = IExplore
