We have our instance of LES defaulting to the HTML view when users click on files. I've noticed that for Word and Excel files hyperlinks funtion from the HTML view. However PowerPoint files do not. What accounts for this?
Say that again. When you say html view it is using the llview.exe and presenting the data inside the frame in livelink. That is where you say links function on excel and doc
and the same does not for ppt.Could you elabaorat the setup and i could try thru my instance.I would like to know the extension like ppt or pptx like wise
Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Okay... From the Function drop down a user can select "View As Web Page" OR since we have it configured to do so, it will activate the same HTML rendered view within the frame, by selecting the title. This is a configuration that can be turned on our off from the Admin side.
I noticed the KC has it on the Function drop down as well, but they have turned it off.

You had indicated that you are unable to use links in PowerPoint documents being viewed as a web page in Livelink.
This is the expected behavior as PowerPoint slides are vector-based graphics. When viewing the PowerPoint document in HTML, the filters create a single image file for each slide.
I would recommendation that these files be opened in the native application which will allow you to use the links.
