I have an Excel spreadsheet that performs numerous calculations based on user input. I have a database that requires the output information from the spreadsheet. Right now, we're typing the information into the spreadsheet, then manually transferring the information to our database. The spreadsheet is only used for one entry at a time, and information is not saved...we just use it to get the output.

My question: is there a way to have fields in the database which automatically populate the fields in the spreadsheet, and have the output automatically put into a field in the database?

Confused? Me, too. Any advise?

Obviously there are loads of ways to do this but as you're talking Microsoft, they're all complicated.

I'd be inclined to get Access to connect to the spreadsheet with ODBC. Then you could manually trigger an Access process to capture the spreadsheet data when you have done a calculation.

BNPMike,

Thanks for your suggestion. However, that is a bit over my head. Any other ideas?

Look at thread702-741233

I found it by doing an advanced search with the exact phrase "link with excel".
