Linking Union Queries

I am fairly new to Crystal reports, being more au fait with Access, and am trying to create a report on our customers complete with their addresses.

To cut a long story short, our addresses are held in five different tables according to the type of organisation, and as such a Union query is necessary to pull them all out. In access it was easy to link this to the customer table, or other queries to produce fairly complex reports, but I can't find a way of doing this in Crystal. I have tried linking with a union query from Access, but because the key is made up of two fields, this won't work.

Any advice

James

If the data is in Access, build the complete query in Access and use that query in Crystal, no linking required.

You can build Unions in CR, but you have to manually do so by appending a Union statement by editing the Database->Show SQl Query (8.5), 9 allows for real SQL.

To enable a better response, post versions of CR/Database, table layout, example data and expected results.

Thanks for that. The problem is we're looking into whether using crystal to interrogate our call handling system would be better then Access, and I personally don't see the point of using it if we're going to go through Access anyway.

I've managed to build the Union query in SQL designer, but it seems that you can only use this query on it's own, and can't link it or reuse it with other queries.

Oh, well
