linking two ipoffices

\ I have a ip500 essential edition with 9.0.500.972 software. customer has just bought a new building in another city and want to purchase a new ip office and link the two systems so they can call each other without long distance. Im not sure where to begin.(old nortel guy learning the ip office) is there a reference guide that will point me in the right direction to setting this up. i checked ipofficeinfo.com but didn't see anything.but may have overlooked it since im not sure what you would call that . If you can provide a link or the name of the doc.i dont mind doing the work just need to be pointed in the right direction.

hi, both sites needs to either be on a Metro E circuit, then you get some networking channel licenses and create an SCN between the two sites. The other option would be to put vpn routers at both sites and link them with a tunnel.

Like mentioned, you need a network between the two IPO's
You will need to create a SCN -> small community networking which requires a voice networking license (4 channels) per site.
Be aware that it is UDP traffic and you will need QOS on the line.

First question is who is there telco provider and how are these sites interconnected? Metro-E? MPLS? T1's? If they are not, put a firewall (I use sonicwalls at all of our branches, TZ210's) in place to create VPN connection between the sites. Enable QoS on the firewall for VOIP traffic to prevent packet loss, jitter etc etc.

For the IPO, I use the Voice Networking Channel license (4 concurrent calls per license). I create a h.323 to the location with their ip information. Also, you need to add "IP Route", especially when your crossing subnets.

example:

IP: 0.0.0.0
IP Mask: 0.0.0.0
Gateway IP: firewall/router

thanks everyone , one location has charter Phone lines and internet the second site will be Comcast. not sure of the Speeds but faster than DSL I'm sure.
my equipment provider quoted me the two vce licenses and 2 netgear firewall/vpn.

if I look up the small community networking will it explain the set up?
