Linking to Spreadsheet problem

I am linking to a spreadsheet. The problem is...when I go to Link Table manager the path to my spreadsheet is listed but there is something appended to the end. IE Download.xls\'2_01_08$'. The \'2_01-08' is what is appended.

We refresh the Download spreadsheed each week for a spreadshee our system outputs. The name on the system generated spreadsheet is 2_01_08 and changes each time the spreadsheet is created (Name = date). We do a SAVE AS and rename the spreadshe...Download.xls. This way each week when we run the system spreadsheet it is saved as Download.xls so the Access DB remains linked.

The 2_01_08 spreadsheed name changes base on the date the report was run...there by breaking my link because of the extenssion appended.

If you are renaming the document, it would probably be easiest to rename the worksheet as well. When Access is linking to Excel, it links to a worksheet or range, not the whole document.
