Is there a way to link a form field for another form in the same database (similar to a hyperlink or OLE to another document)? For example, the first form is a table of contents and the second form is the first item in the table of contents (so you can open the second form without going to the database forms tab.

what you are describing is a subform and it links by master and child fields. Check it out under access help file

Thanks, I will look into this, but I don't think this is what I want. There are no related fields in the two forms, which is my understanding of subforms...but agian, I will look into it.

I have also run into the same issue in trying to link a form field to a query or table in the same database. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!!

If I understand correctly, all you want to do is open another form while you are "sitting" on the first?

Command Buttons:
Place your first form in design view, make sure the wizard button (wand & stars) is depressed. Click on command button on the tool bar and drag out the size of your command button onto the form wherever you'd like it. Follow the wizards steps and I think you'll have what you want.

Hyperlinks:
"code free", lightweight and as easy as command buttons. Drag a label (or an image or anything you can find with a hyperlink property!)... on to your form in design view and caption it i.e. "MyOtherForm". Double-click on it to bring up its properties dialog. On the format tab you'll see "Hyperlink subaddress". Type: Form NameOfTheFormYouWantToOpen
Thats it!
Good luck, Gord

Thanks for your help. I actually figured it out. If you make a field a hyperlink, then right click on the field in form/datasheet view, you can add a hyperlink. By choosing "objects in this database" (access 2000, the link is just a click away. So, you can link and launch any query, table, or form from a hyperlink field.
