I've a need to link an access 97 database to access 2003 tables. When i try i get the error message:

'Unrecognized database format \\XXXXXXX'

Is there any way to do this?

You would have to save the tables in Access 97 format.

Tools Menu, Database Utilities, Convert Database, To Access 97 File Format

You only need to do this for the file with the tables in it (assuming you have a split database).

Access 2003 can read and write an Access 97 file. Your front end and backend can be different versions but your front end will be the higher version.
