I have a campus within 1000' where a partner acs 5.0 and legend 7.0 are in use. The people on the partner system sometimes get calls for the legend users. When this happens that either give out the phone# or manually transfer them. If we defined the Legend as an extension on the partner and hooked it as a trunk line on the Legend, would that permit a transfer? I searched the Merlin and Partner forums, since I know I saw this post before, but I could not find the info. Is there anything special to be done to make this work?

Connect a Partner extension to a Legend line port. On the Legend side, program the line to be answered by the auto attendant. From the Partner, transfer the caller to that Partner extension, wait for the Legend AA to answer, dial the Legend extension number that you want, then hang up.

I was thinking of just letting it go to the normal path of a line and hit the operator the AA. Can the Partner station doing the transfer do this blindly? Like just transfer to extension and hang up? Then when the Legend rings it simply takes the call like any other line incoming ? If someone answers great, and if not then the AA takes over? We have the 800 GS/LS and only 4 of the 8 are used.

Sure, you can just dump the call on the Legend, and let it ring like any other incoming call, or put the line on phones, and have the AA be the backup.

Tommy thanks for the suggestion. I did not think to use one of the MLX or the 012 on the Legend as a fake phone and send directly to the AA. Interesting, that method would allow the same extension to be use the same way at each end. (I think). Each forwarding to the AA.
