Hi Guys
a little help needed

i have a customer that needs to link 3 x ip412 together on a flat network to make a 900 port system
ip412 /1
has the licences for vm pro and soft consoles and 200 users
ip412/2
has no licenses,no dongle and 190 users
ip12/3
has no licenses,no dongle and 210 users

if i lan connect them,i am sure the vm will work, but do i need to put vcm cards in each unit for the speech between the units and do you need a license for the vcm cards and will the consoles on unit 1 be able to see users on all 3 units
can the call logging info from all units be sent to one unit for collection by a suitable program

Thanks in advance

You need VCM's in all sites no licences for the 412 cards, you will also need licence dongles and voice networking licences if you want to see all users within the SCN using the consoles :)

Thanks for your help guys

could you explain the license and dongle situation a bit further

Cheers

Basically, if you want to see user status on all IP Offices in an SCN they must be running Advanced SCN this means they will all need the licence for it and that means a dongle is also required :)

I might be wrong but i thought the 400 series did not need the Advanced networking licensing only the 500 series?

The 400 series didn't require the basic voice networking licences when the 500 did, but they both required advanced SCN licences ...up to R5 anyway, I know they changed the licencing in R5 but I don't remember that requirement being removed, you could be right though :)

Or just go V5 and there is no need for Advanced Networking License. Its an included feature. One of the benefits of still being on IP400 Hardware :)

Also V5 is a must for you voicemail. 600+ users will cause the VM service to crash on a V4 VM.

Don't ask me, I didn't design it.

seryozha, it's not supported but you can and it will work, but avaya will not support any related issues and as TheSmash says as long a syou use R5 VM that will work also :)
