Linked Server

Hi!

I made a linked server to a MS Access database located on an NT server, I have the same login name and password on my SQL server with the NT server so I am guessing that is why I am able to connect to the MS Access database on the NT Server, my question is that every morning, the connection or link seems to be gone, like an initialize error, any ideas why? Thanks!

can you be more specific what do you mean the link is gone from where EM.

I mean the linked server to the MS Access in the NT Server is disconnected and I have to restart SQL Server in order for it to connect again

so you cant see the linked server in Enterprise manager ne more..? um... this is a new one to me .. ill try it out and get back to u

I can see the linked server, but when I click on the Tables, it is empty

Also, is there a connection timeout setting for linked server? Because I was thinking that our MS Access database is located on a separate server and everytime it backups, our network connection to that server seems to be disconnected, thanks for any help
