This seems to be a regular problem encountered - I think I have a new twist.
I have a MDB with an field of type OLE OBJECT. In access I can set this to a linked file such as a BMP or JPG (Access shows the appropriate editor as the field value). If I then use this database with Crystal Reports I get the BMP or JPG image in the report automatically.
however.....
If I link a PNG file to the MDB field, Access tells me the object is a PACKAGE (???) and Crystal Reports shows a blank - i can however simply insert the PNG file in Crystal Reports and it displays - so CR uses PNG.
Any thoughts how I get the MDB to treat a PNG file as it does a JPG (i.e. use MS PhotoEdit etc as the driver).
Oh yes - resaving my PNG files as JPGs is not something I can do.
Any thought on this 'PACKAGE' item??
thanks - and have a great new year.
