Hello again.

Looking for additional confirmation/concerns that are present in linking two BCM 400 cabinets for a company with 250 phones.

A vendor has propsed this solution and we are finding that, although this will work, we may have issues down the road.

My supervisor is extremely upset that we have already signed a contract, but want to be sure that I should advocate to stop this install as it may present unknown issues for us down the road.

Is anyone using two linked BCM 400 cabinets to service 250+ phones?

Thanks.

Appreciate any advice or assistance.

It will work. you will have issues if it is not 100% installed correctly.

it would not have been my first choice for that many phones. I would have gone the option 11 route and been much much happier 2 or 3 years down the road.

Anyone else using this solution for this many phones?

So far we have not been able to determine if any other site has this setup in this way for the mumber of phones we are installing.

We were also told that we could run into issues with upgrades, adminisration, and growth in the future.

Is this accurate?

I want to be sure this is a tested solution and speak with someone who is using this setup.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was told that although you can connect the two BCM's, you can only do internal dialing. If you use ACD queues, you can't have agents participate in a central queue (so I am told).

You can do external dialing, but you are correct about the ACD queues - the ACD agents would need to be on the system that houses the voicemail.

Doing what you list above is like haveing 7 kids and having 2 cars bolted together, you, your wife and 2 kids ride in the first car and the rest of the kids ride in the 2nd car. yes it works, but a 9 passanger van would be better.

Get an Option 11C

Good analogy. Couldn't have said it better myself.

like judge judy says keep it simple stupid !!
